Thoughts and the Lack Thereof

2/20/09 11:01 am

What's up, LiveJournal world? Much has happened since the last time I updated you. Christmas was excellent, New Year's was rockin', and Florida was insane, as usual, and slightly magical... but only because the guy I liked confessed he liked me back while I was there. Annnd we started dating. Aaaand we are together now. And he's pretty much the most epic guy I have ever met. So this semester has been great - all of my classes are good, except HODAT, and I have medieval literature with Thomas (the aforementioned epic male).

SCA stuff is GOODTIMES, Ice Castles and Winter University were both very fun, and we're going to Tournament of Love & Beauty up north next weekend, where Thomas is going to fence for my honor. *Win* I made him a favor to wear. Aaaand I'm getting into combat archery, so that hopefully by Pennsic this summer I can be of use to the Barony/Kingdom and start shooting people with swords. EPICCC GOODTIMES.

Really not much to say, I suppose. Eating more, and more healthy. Have made more scrolls in the past month than I had in the past year. Nerding out CONSTANTLY with Thomas. You'd like him.

Going home for a day to see the HHS play. WOOT. laterz/

12/23/08 10:22 am - Wow...

...I haven't posted since mid-October. That's alright though, not much to inform the LJ community of, just more of the same. Hating school, LOVING the SCA, getting into combat archery (I'M GONNA SHOOT PEOPLE WHILE THEY BEAT EACH OTHER - AND POSSIBLY ME - WITH SWORDS), making all sorts of costumes. We've established an official Wear-Garb-To-Class Day once a month, had a Star Wars themed Halloween, participated in Time Traveler Day, and have gone to a couple of events. Also, during the last two weeks of school, we all basically moved into Doug's townhouse, which was greeeat. Lots of MarioKart and shenanigans of the ridiculous derivation.

This is actually the first break during my college career where I have actively missed being at Tech. Normally I am quite content with where I am, I'm fine at school, fine at home, fine in Florida, able to be perfectly happy wherever I am. I pride myself on it, in fact, I hate it when people are all OHHH I CAN NEVER BE HAPPY UNLESS I AM SOMEWHERE ELSE WAHHH. It bugs me. And I'm fine now too, I suppose, I just miss some people.

But break all-in-all is going dandily, I've worked a little bit at the Bakery, but not nearly as much as I had hoped I would - so broke - and I'm off to work at Disney again in January. Will be there for about two weeks, and I was super excited about it, but now I'm just meh. Oh wells, time goes faster in Florida, and I'll get to see some of my Floridian buddies again, though not my piratical crew: Yuki, Colleen, or Machaela. :( Work won't be the same without them.

Next semester I'm taking two or three history classes (possibly one on the Renaissance with a fellow SCAdian, how AWESOME would that be????), more French, and some theatreness. Also, a costume lab. Will probably be a bit more of a workload than this past semester, but I suppose that's not really hard. Am almost looking forward to it.

In other news, my cats got fatter, my Nana is out of the hospital and home now, being ridiculous as usual, though decidedly less hyperactive, and my feet are freezing.

10/8/08 12:23 am - ramblings

This week is teh suck, work-wise. I've had two papers, a speech, and an exam so far, and I have two more quizzes to look forward to before Thursday is over. I'm really looking forward to Thursday though because I'll be headed to Winston Salem to visit my sister and pick up Liz for War of the Wings III!!!!!!! It promises to be excellent, and I've made a buttload of garb for all three of us.

Regarding Halloween, I am also thrilled with my costume choice for this year... an x-wing pilot. EPIC. And my sister? I'm turning her into a tie fighter. Yes, the actual ship. AGH. And this has inspired the whole student part of the SCA to have a Star Wars themed Halloween. YUSS.

Today I was whacked with a sudden desire to run off to Disney for a smidge. I really wanted a cappuccino float, so I went to Deet's and assembled my own out of different ingredients, and it actually tasted like I should be sitting in Liberty Square with a mickey waffle and Yuki and Colleen making fun of my fattosity. Now I'm listening to parade and attractions music and each song has a different smell. Yes, SMELL. I actually get feelings and smell smells of where I would be when I hear each song. Spectro smells coolish, funnel cake/carnival food-esque, and slightly cramped. Fantasmic smells like water and those godforsaken turkey legs. Legacy smells like cleaner and shade and walking. Soarin smells very chilly and windy and like that combo of smells the room has of oranges/pines/etc. And Destiny smells FREEZING and mildly of barf. So weird. I am very excited to go back in January... Agh, never work at Disney, it causes people to lose their minds. Mine is going.

9/28/08 01:05 am - Garb and Scriptorium!

SCA squee time...

SO I just finished making my first ever sideless surcoat, and I had to wing it completely. I know how Ailoua recommends making them, but the only fabric I had required some improvisation. It's made out of a sort of periwinkle linen-look fabric and is definitely not perfect - the sideless parts are of different length and it hangs a little unevenly, but I can wear it and it looks nice. Apparently they were normally worn with very differently colored underdresses, so the only suitable one I have (of the two that I own that are of the proper period) is the vibrantly red one. A very interesting color scheme! Aaaand I'm totally wearing it right now. *twirls*

And I've started a new scriptorium project... the third one of my life. I think it's going to be a polished mirror award, Metylda said that they would be needed at War of the Wings, but I'm not entirely sure it will be done by then. I can only work on it on Friday nights (otherwise I would spend homeworking time painting). I'm ver much excited about it though, and as usual am charging into it almost blindly.

In completely unrelated news, I just saw my roommate's boyfriend running through our apartment in the nuddy-pants.

9/17/08 06:30 pm - laalaalala

Long time no update. We're in, what, like the 4th week of school now? No idea. Anyways, here's a rundown of all my classes:

Fundimantals of Theatre and Production: Boring as whatwhat. And way too early.

Elementary French: Technically I was supposed to be in intermediate, since I took 3 and a half years of French in high school, but it was a longish while ago and I have no memory of it, so here I am making relatively easy A's. It's also the funnest class I have this semester, my teacher is a nutcase.

Greek Art & Archeology: As expected. Taught by one of my favorite AH professors, but not one of my favorite subjects.

Performance Lab: HATE ACTING. I HATE IT. HATEHATEHATE. Talking in front of people I don't know but still have to see on a daily basis? HATE.

Baroque Art and Architecture: Feels like the class will never end but I enjoy the subject, and occasionally the professor is amusing.

Management Lab: I guess it's like one credit? I have no idea... basically at some point this semester I have to help with the theatre office stuff. Aka usher for some plays. Yay.

So academically I'm having an interesting year. A history major with no history classes, hmm. Adding theatre as my second major has not been incredibly fun so far, since I haven't gotten to take any costuming classes (which is why I doubled in the first place). Best thing we've done so far is play red light green light. I'm definitely not regretting the decision I made at Disney to pick French up again - one day I will make words with someone who is French! Possibly at Disney! Or maybe just with OMD. Ridiculously.

Apartment-wise, me and Bethany haven't burned anything down yet (unlike that one time in Lee Hall). Narsil hasn't fallen off the wall (though my fan has), and the kitchen and bathroom don't smell. My only complaint is the walking to campus... especially if it rains. My cheap little property control reject space mountain diving umbrella keeps turning inside out. I'm sure I look hilarious to the little people who pass me in their nice little cars. I'm glad I can still provide magical moments for people.

Socially I am still as awkward as usual. Woot! The SCAdians are great (at least the non-annoying ones are) and that takes up most of my weekend... I CANT WAIT FOR WAR OF THE WINGS III... *SQUEE* Must make more garb. Also looking forward to Halloweenens, as I will be an X-WING PILOT. BEST IDEA EVAR. And OMD is having a party at her new house. With a pool. Speaking of parties, I've been skipping out on the theatre ones since JP is not my first choice of a drinking buddy. I may be a disappointment to my "big sister" in my lack of outgoingness. But its fine with me, I partied when Liz was staying with me for a week. We took refuge from the cops in a tree. Kind of. And of course there's never a shortage of the beverages at home, Bethany lurches around with another new boyfriend every weekend trying to invent fun new ways to make strawberry daiquiris.

My sister started college on a full scholarship at Wake Forest this year and is rooming with Cheyenne Woods (Tiger's niece). Typical of her charmed life ^_^ She's been running around setting more records with the running and just got a 100% on her first Calculus exam (granted, she's already taken calc for a year). She's coming up this weekend to run against Tech. I'm hoping for a kind of "Ireland wins but Krum gets the snitch" kind of outcome. Yeah.

Anyways... struggling on through a muddle of art history papers to write, must stop avoiding them.

8/20/08 01:29 am - I am Mrs. Weasley Twin

Your result for The Harry Potter Husband Test...

Mrs. Weasley Twin

Your perfect HP man is Fred and/or George Weasley.

Laughter is important to you. You want a guy who's never boring, who can always put a smile on your face, and who can pull the best of pranks and never get caught. Or possibly two such guys. Because let's face it, they're pretty much a two-fer. You get one, you get both. Even if one of them's only a friend, he'll still be around so much you'll feel like you're married to him, too. Sure, they may not seem like the most mature guys in the world, in a traditional sense, but just ask them about their business plan. When they drive you nuts by relentlessly testing their latest inventions on you, you can console youself with that huge stack of cash and dragon-leather jacket. Besides, you know you're powerless against those stereo smiles.

8/13/08 12:53 am - APARTMENT

Sooooo I moved into my apartment yesterday. IT MIGHT JUST BE THE MOST AMAZING THING EVER. Me and Bethany chose to decorate it in bruise colors (mostly black and blue... and some pink) Most of my furniture is from the Estate Specialist store, where the rich people of Lynchburg donate their awesome old stuff when they die, and it is all SO COOL. Narsil the sword is hanging happily on my wall and my bed is quite happy-looking. Me, OMD, and Liz spent the night there last night after unpacking and rearranging furnitures and then headed back to Lynchburg today, after some shopping in Roanoke. I got a shirt and a dress. I know, a dress, ooooh... Cheryn generally does not wear those. But this one is SPECIAL. Anyways, Bethany will be moving her stuff in on the 17th, so I'll be back in Blacksburg again then, but I don't know when I'll be there from good. *SQUEE* My apartment is SO. PRETTY. Putting up some pics on facebook, will have more soon.

*dancedancedance*

On the plus side, I am already developing some nice archery-induced blisters.

I am now the proud owner of a Martin longbow. OMGOMGOMG I CANT WAIT TO GET BACK TO BLACKSBURG FOR ARCHERY OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG

Speaking of Blacksburg, let's laugh for a moment.

Roanoke > Lynchburg past 10pm.

IHOP = always good

MY DAD JUST SPOKE TO ME IN LOLCAT.

The awesome new store downtown seduced me into buying black leather archery arm bracer things that lace up the side, are functional, and look amaaazing AND a Lord of the Rings shirt. I've never had a LOTR shirt! It says "Not all who wonder are lost." I'm wearing it right now.
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I am making moneys!!!!!! I spent a lot yesterday, but it's a reward for working so much, or at least that's what I tell myself.

Speaking of work, OhMahDang got hired at teh Bakery and I GET TO TRAIN HER SOMETIMES. Train her to eat the donuts? Oh yes.

OMFGOMFGOMFG ZZZZZZZZZOOOOOOOMG DARK KNIGHT IS SO SOSOSOOSO AMAZING. Plot, characters, fight scenes GAHAHHHHHA ksdkfsfdjhskdfh after we saw it last night, there was collective spazzing and a Heath Ledger-induced orgy in my van. WHY, HEATH LEDGER, WHYY???

sigh.

My mom is currently in Blacksburg picking up Laura from track camp and should be home in a few hours, so I am going to go have a little zizz before works.

LATA MUCH.

7/4/08 01:37 pm - reglr updatin.... im doin it wrong.

Sooooo... I've been back from Disney for.. a while. Since May 18th, actually. The end of the program provided an interesting combination of emotions. I was very anxious to get home, but I miss my stupid pirate crew from Custodial. Stayed seasonal, WOOT! So more free tickets EVERYYEAR YAY DISCOUNTS ON DISNEY.

Back at home, I had NO MONEYS and NO JOBS for the first smidge of the summer, but it's okay cause I turned into an application whore and finally got hired at my first choice job, "The Bakery", which is basically a glorified Dunkin' Donuts... only more delicious. Everyday after work I come home smelling like donut and coated in a thin layer of powdered sugar. Which I don't really have a problem with. I work with interesting people, with names like Dinky and Fancy. My boss is incredibly nice, a little hyper though.

And of course the lamers and I have been laming through Lynchburg in a lame lamety lamelame way ever since I got back and two of them FINALLY GRADUATED. As did my sister *proud* - she has a free ride to Wake Forest for collegeums. That's what happens when you are the fastest girl in the state. Seriously. But back to the laming, I am pleased to announce that one of my ridiculous friends will be JOINING ME AT TECH THIS YEAR OMGGGGGGGG. I am totally getting a pet for my apartment. Probably going to go with a guinea pigger, cause they are so cute and they whistle and popcorn and have pudgy cheeks. Our theme days have been happening once a week since we came up with a comprehensive list of those we wished to accomplish this summer. So far we've had Medieval Day (also referred to in my mind as EPIC DAY), Pirate vs. Ninja Day (which was also epic), and Asian Day (not so much on the epic... but there was delicious food). NEXT WEEK IS MY CHOICE, AND GUESS WHAT IT IS?????? STAR WARS DAY AGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I'm going to be Qui-Gon. *SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*

Nerd-fest here in Lynchburg is not so well-funded as in previous summers, but we're getting by.

4/22/08 07:16 pm - the past month

3/19/08 12:30 pm - 20 Long Years

Wow, I is old nows. But I had a pretty awesome birthday week to celebrate my oldness, so is all good. My roommates got me a huge picture frame, a bag of Ghiradelli chocolate, some Star Wars stuff (though they do not understand my obsession), and St. Patricks Day personalized Mouse ears! Yaaaay! Lacey's mom sent me a St. Pat's hat and necklace. Also, I got two care packages in two days - a nice chocolate-filled one from my family and an AMAAAZING holiday jam-packed one from OMD, JP, Evan, and Liz. I squeeeeeed for about five years. And wore the shamrock boppers they sent me for two days straight. ^_^ Teh camoflage eggs were a nice Eastery touch. Work-wise, the week hasn't been too bad, except for trying to get more time off for when my sister comes next week. The other CPs and I frolic around Future World (and occasionally backstage Canada) to our hearts' content. My CP trivia/scavenger hunt team won, so we got free stuff. And I got to clean the Spaceship Earth vehicles on the 15th. A bunch of Disney's Magic Music Days marching bands/orchestras/choirs are popping up and it makes me so happy :) *fond memories of 12th grade Disney band trip* My birthday itself was ver nice, I had a class at DU in the morning, and one of my classmates was "the voice of Disney" - he did voiceovers for most of the parades, shows, and was Marlin and Gaston in their respective musicals. Unfortunately he was a giant douchebag. Welcome to Disney. My friend Priscilla texted me "Happy Birthday" in three different languages. Back at the apartment, me, Kayla M. Ashley, and Kat all dressed in green and went to ChickaFlail, Wendy's, and Publix in Kat's green convertible. Then Emily and Kat and I toddled over to Chatham field for the Spring Festival, where we met Mickey and Minnie in their St. Patricks Day glory - my birthday is so frickin awesome. Got our faces painted, more free food, and met another Sharon whose birthday it was. AGH. Then everyone piled into the convertible and we drove to the Caribbean Beach resort to go to Beaches n' Cream, where we got the Kitchen Sink ice cream sundae of DOOM for my birthday (and I got my b-day pin). So.Much.IceCream. <3 Then to MK to ride some select attractions. Emily and I got DRENCHED on Splash mountain. And then that night they all gave me the aforementioned presents. :) Yesterday I got up waaay to early for a day off and went to MK with Yuki, Colleen, and David to meet Krysti at Westclock. Wandered the tunnels until the park opened, then did Thunder and the Tea Cups before having STRAWBERRYSWIRLS for breakfast! Then we went to Space Mountain, where we got a special tower tour - got to go into the control tower and learn about all the buttons and lights and video monitors and whatnot, then ride the ride twice in a row - on both tracks - with NO WAIT at all! EEEEEEEEE. Met Priscilla and Nick outside Space and then proceeded to Philharmagic and Splash, then caught the monorail to Epcot. Met Daniel and his friend, took lots of pictures, and then wandered over to Japan. Tried on kimonos until 2:30, when we had reservations to eat at Teppan Edo. SO DELICIOUS. Mmmmm :)Shopped in China, but were then too worn out to go to Hollywood Studios as intended - died back onto the CP bus and went home (apparently I fell asleep on some random guy next to me.. oops).

Mmmm. Was a fun week. *brain explodes* off to work!

3/13/08 12:24 pm - To ER is human; ADO, divine.

Apparently yesterday was the halfway point in my program here at Disney. That feels about right, time-wise, but at the same time it feels like I've been here forever. And then the next moment I really want to go home. This is the best. job. I have EVER had. And I'm totally going to stay seasonal - but I don't think the Central Florida lifestyle is for me when it comes to extremely extended periods of time. Also, the way the Disney Company operates ticks me off - you don't move up in the company by what you do or how you do your job, but by who you know. I would much rather be judged based on myself than based on the people I know in positions of power. However, on a personal level, my job is perfect. Where else can I start my day with Mickey Mouse and end my day with fireworks? And that's on days when I'm actually working!

Anyways, fun stuff going on lately has included but not been limited to:
-Dream Magic Hour night at Epcot! The Dream Squad ran around and picked people to stay in the park and have it to themselves after closing. I was working and got to witness the opening ceremony for it, the dance party that commenced (with teh Mice, of course), and all the happy guests frolicing around. At the end of the night, I was taking a picture of Mickey and the Dream Squad happened by. Donald actually remembered my name and came over to talk to me. Then he took me over to his manager, the captain of the Dream Squad and goes, "Kimmie Sue, this is Cheryn. She's magical!" TEEHEE. What a way to be introduced to really cool people.
-Got a new roommate. Old roommate did not get along with other apartmentmates and vice versa, so now I has a new one. Michelle-from-Puerto-Rico. She's really nice and likes a lot of the same stuff I do, but there's a language barrier, as well as her tendency to shut herself off from everyone else in random rooms.
-Going around with Lacey while she stalks Henrique-from-Guest-Relations is funny. The other day when I was working, I had to clean up where a little kid crapped out all of his innards in front of the buses and had to make Henrique open the door to go backstage for me. Lacey was very envious. They are getting married on Thursday apparently, and if you want to attend, ask OhMahDang for a ride, because Lacey invited her and she's a-comin.
-Disney/Junior Achievement Bowlathon!!!! Very very much fun, a bunch of CPs from Future World Custodial had a team and we won runner-up to "Most Spirited" bowling team. I got lots of awesome free stuff and got third place.
-I found a Happy Flower at Epcot!!! In a random bathroom! *yoink*
-Re-read (for teh 4th time) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. LOVE.
-Wandered over to meet Figment whilst working. Got a picture with him and my pan and broom. Hehe.
-Made AMAZING birthday week plans with Yuki, Krysti, Colleen, Maria, Priscilla, David, Daniel (who apparently wants to teach me Spanish today O_O), and my apartmentmates. CAN'T WAIT.
-Got my first ER yesterday! Only worked for two hours, AND some random manager saw me "doing my job well" and asked me to come backstage with him, where he gave me a DONUT. YAY.
-Have watched Illuminations four times off the clock in a week with Lacey. (She's doing it for the 9:45 bus ride home with Henrique as well as for the absolute LURVE of Epcot). Every night we watch it we end up conducting it and yelling at each other every three seconds that this is our favorite part, and squeeing that we work at THE BEST PARK. Because face it, we do.

Ahh... another day off, souvenir shopping at Epcot, followed by more Illuminations :)

3/6/08 10:33 am - i can has a.d.o.?

Jeez. It feels like it's been forever since I updated... So to update anyone who gives a rip what I do on mah life, bullets will be used due to my extreme lazyosity and fatosity and large-amount-to-write-osity.

-My Nana and great aunt Barb came to visit me for a week! They are NUTS. Seriously, when I get older I want to be just like them. They asked me if I could get them some weed, and Nana "kept a special eye on Barb" when she heard about "Vista Lay"s reputation. XD My roommates thought they were friggin hysterical. We hit all the cool stuff at all four parks (yay for roommates in attractions!) and ate at the Sci-Fi Dine-In, Ohana, and Coral Reef. All so tasty, but Ohana was BY FAR the tastiest. omg totally going back when my next batch of visitors arrives in 2 weeks and 4 days. We also hit up Property control and bought the world.
-Saw (my first successful unblocked-by-clouds)lunar eclipse from Epcot!
-Went to see Fantasmic with Emily and her friend from JMU. Not only did we get a prime view location for the bit of hilarity at the end involving Ariel, but the float holding Belle and the Beast RAN INTO THE WALL. AAHAAHA.
-Colleen actually had to pick poop up out of a toilet. She is such a brave soul.
-Ran around in the bowels of Soarin last week when it was raining like a mofo. Memorable moments in the Land brought to you by Elizabeth Lefebvre. She is crazy.
-That same day all my apartmentmates went up to the bus stop to meet me when I got off work as a surprise. Lacey was dressed as Minnie Mouse.
-Found out what hista fastpass spares actually meant XD
-Took a Safety in Motion class. It was friggin hysterical. Made up a custodial handshake in our "green zones"
-Had a homeroom meeting field trip with a bunch of hispanic and haitian custodians. We all piled into a van and drove to Hollywood Studios where we watched One Man's Dream and GOT PAID FOR IT.
-Had the Epcot-wide CP greeting festivity day thing (see previous entry). Got BUTTLOADS of free Epcot stuff and it was awesome. The rest of that day was a custodial CP party and we got more free stuff, listened to speakers, "test rode" Test Track and Mission: Space (Yuki had never been on either!) and had a scavenger hunt that my team finished first ^_^ Still waiting on the managers to give us a prize. Hmf.
-All this week I have been SQUEEING at and chasing down people in VT apparel. The other day I smoked out a nest of like seven of them in Club Cool. I miss Tech. Also, on Tuesday I SAW BERNIE! It was weird cause I thought I might see her and right after I thought to myself "Tuesday is a good day to go to Epcot" she turned around right in front of me. Craziness XD
-Was scarred by the three couples on a bench all making out furiously under Spaceship Earth. UMMMM? Little kids around??
-Had a toilet explode all over the bathroom I was closing. Rats.
-Did Test Track detail shift for the first time. Got to clean out the VIP area and it is BY FAR the coolest of the VIP areas I've seen. Best view, best pictures, it.was.awesome. Omg.
-There is a guy who works on maintenance stuff on Test Track who looks EXACTLY like Jermaine from Flight of the Conchords. He even has the glasses. AGH. Colleen and I stalk him now. As well as Off-Kilter.
-Did the Seas bathrooms for the first time and took the opportunity to explore. Met an awesome (and rather adorable) diver named Joshua who led me up to the MAIN DOLPHIN TANK. Not just the entrance anymore, but the ACTUAL INSIDE MAIN TANK HUGE GIGANTICAL ENORMICUS CIRCULAR TANK OF DOOM. AGHHHHHH. And he told me to come back sometime when he wasn't right about to start working and he's show me more. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
-I got a letter from LIZ. With KIWIS.
-Had an in-depth conversation with Donald from the Dream Squad earlier this week. He is so cool! Apparently he was going to be a funeral home director before he started working at Disney. HA! Nice. I saw him again with the whole squad from far off yesterday and he remembered me and waved and said "HEY, CHERYN!" I felt special. Dream Squad is the shit.
-Was Mission: Space custodial yesterday for the second time in my life. Basically explored the building and VIP area for ten and a half hours, read Harry Potter, cleaned up barf, chatted with a girl from England, and laughed at the dumb attractions guy who thought that because I was an invisible custodian I didn't see him pick that wedgie. I saw. And oh, what a wedgie it was.

I have today and tomorrow off! Am previewing the new Hollywood Studios parade at a cast-exclusive thing tonight, and am getting a new roommate. EEP. Will babble more later. somuchgoingon.

2/29/08 01:22 am

So today we had a giant get-free-stuff-and-listen-to-people-talk day at the Odyssey Center in Epcot. It was for all the college program kids from all roles in Epcot. It was weird, as I looked around the (very large) room, I realized that there were three people there from my high school. I just thought that was funneh.

One day, I will update about my epic adventures from the past week. But it is not this day!!!

2/20/08 12:34 am - at the moment...

...I can't think of anything funnier than what i saw this evening. We weren't allowed to walk through the East side of Future World when we were going home for the night because the Waste Management corporate people were having a party there... so we walk past the breezeway to go out through Showcase/ the Odyssey Center. However, I wanted to see what was going on on the east side, so I went into the tunnel and popped up on the other side of the breezeway, where I could get in unnoticed. What I saw was a bunch of drunken people fitting the Disney Look mingling/dancing all over Future World East, surrounding a stage on which two Christmas-type-light bedecked people were dancing in spacesuits, to the song Toxic by Britney Spears.

Fin.

2/18/08 11:56 pm - buhlug

It has been an interesting past few days.

Celebrating Valentines Day with roommates was nice. We all got each other stuff and they were delightful. My favs were the hand-drawn valentine from Kayla M., the chocolate covered strawberries from Kat, and the stuffed frog from Kayla S.

Kayla S. is out of celebration hospital but staying in a hotel with her mom until she leaves. Then Kayla will be back in the apartment and hopefully not termed for being unable to work for so long.

Have explored many new and exciting places in Epcot, including "the Jungle" and the Land tunnel.

I got hit in the head with a soccer ball during a magical moment. It was magical...NOT.

Had work at 6am for three days in a row. Pushing water is still ridiculous.

Was an hour late for work one day. >_< Felt HORRIBLE and went home sick the next day. But not before witnessing the Haitians screaming that the manager was coming and a frantic yet complete evacuation from the East tunnel breakroom.

Had a custodial ice cream party fo' FREE. I had seconds on the delicious Edy's ice cream from Fountain View. YUMZ.

Rode Splash Mountain the day it reopened!!! Also "watched" Wishes whilst on Thunder Mountain with Kayla M. and Ashley.

Learned that Johnny Depp was here over Valentines Day. Was extremely heartbroken that he did not visit me.

Made Maria go to rope drop and ride Soarin for the first time (using a rider switch pass i found in a bathroom i cleaned) ^_^

Signed up for the Disney Bowlathon.

Got MORE free ice cream at Hollywood Studios because the people at Scoops are awesome and didnt want to charge me for the last bit of slightly melty cookies n' cream. Crammed it down while waiting to get on Tower. Then Tower was scarier than usual because they stopped it and announced something completely unintelligible right before the drop.

Scared Lacey with MufasaH and a message taped to his nose when she returned from work the other day. Other Chatham residents have gotten used to our apartment's coming & going with large inflatable animals.

Today I was Hub 14, aka barf patrol part 2. I was in Mission: Space and basically took care of their trash, sat around, and explored whilst I waited for someone to protein spill. Micheal-from-Germany was there for part of the time I was, and he showed me around and we cleaned up some barf. Then he left and I was on my own to clean up the VIP area (so snazzy up there! very classy & sophisticateded) and sit around waiting for more puke. Right after I started my final trash run, someone barfed up the mother of all chicken sandwiches all over one of the capsules in bay four. The two cast members who watched me clean it up said it was the worst they'd ever seen. XD

Mah Nana is coming to visit with Great Aunt Barb on Wednesday!!!!!!!! I has a kick-butt trip planned for thems ^_^ Can't wait!!!!!

2/12/08 01:08 am - things in my life worth commenting on:

-my roommate is abandoning meee
-battling nature/god/the monorail/the sprinklers/the man with the hose in the mornings is NOT FUN. I have to "push water" when i open streets, and the monorail FLOODS and everything is revolting and my life is made futile and i just sit there and laugh at my underwater pushbroom.
-one of my roommates got squished by big thunder mountain (she works on it) the other day and killed her knee
-am reading sense & sensibility online. about time i read it, yayay.
-am aquiring WAY TOO MANY quotes for the quotebook from mah ridiculous apartmentmates
-two of my apartmentmates have told me that i would be an excellent jungle cruise skipper. apparently i'm getting better at talking.
-had the entire garden grill area cheer for me for quieting a VERY unhappy toddler the other day. hewassocuuute.
-maria and i snuck over to backstage canada yesterday to wait for off-kilter to come out of their break trailer for their 5:30 show. after they emerged, they scared the crap out of some squirrels and then proceeded to chase them, kilts flapping, halfway up the ramp leading to their stage. i lol'd.
-snuck over to world showcase to watch illuminations yesterday with yuki, who hadn't seen all of it yet. i love that i am STILL not at all tired of illuminations, even though i pretty much see it every night. i def watched it again today.
-i love giving directions. cause i srsly know where everything is now. srsly.
-the music they play in cast services is awesome
-i know codes and secret door-opening methods passed on from generation to generation of custodial hosts and i lurve it.
-when i have free time at work (and i have a lot of it) i wander around and try to get myself lost and then figure out how to get unlost. today i explored and mapped out the tunnel. i now know it extremely well, after spending about three hours in it. with the asbestos.
-i've also found some butt-kicking hiding places
-I KNOW SO MANY PEOPLE WHO CAN GET ME REENTRY PASSES YESSSSS.
-one of my managers, Chris, has set it up so that i can WALK ON TEST TRACK... the OUTSIDE PART... THIS COMING WEEK. OMG. Also, I iz being trained for Hub 15 this week, aka the barf patrol.
-others complain about it, but I LOVE MY JOB SOSOOSOSOSO much. i get to do so many different things!!! and my managers are amused by my enthusiasm so they come up with more new things for me to do/see/learn about. ^_^

2/8/08 07:25 pm - aww

I wasn't even working today, but I went to Epcot anyhow. I was waiting for the next Universe of Energy showing with Katie and sitting down, playing in the mulch, when a little girl came up and handed me a berry to put on my mulch creation. So we constructed a sculpture together until she ran off to join her parents for the show. Awww. I love doing my job, even when I'm not working.
